New General Secretary Joins
Dr. A. Arunachalam is a Principal Scientist (specialized in forestry and allied areas) in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi; associated with Tamil Nadu Agricultural University as a Visiting Professor in College of Forestry & Research Institute and Amity University as Honorary Professor in Amity School of Natural Resources and Sustainable Development. He has to his credit 150 papers in reputed research journals, 100 articles in books, 24 popular articles, 6 synthesis volumes, 4 training manuals, and 1 technical bulletin. Ten students have completed their PhD degree under his guidance; 1 submitted; 1 registered. Dr. Arunachalam has successfully completed 26 major/minor research projects, and organized several national/international conferences, seminar, symposia, workshop, etc. Based on his scientific and academic contributions he has bagged several awards and recognitions. NESA feels proud to have him as the General Secretary and hope to have a good academic forum that could have national and international linkages in the times to come.
National Environmental Science Academy was established in 1984 and was registered in the year 1988 under the Societies Act XXI of 1960 with its Registered Office at P P Compound, Ranchi; shifted to Behind A.N. College, Shiv Puri, Patna 800 023 and presently has its Head Office at 206, Raj Tower 1, Alakananda Community Centre, New Delhi - 110019. Padma Bhushan Dr. Syed Zahoor Qasim is the President of Academy and Prof. A. Arunachalam is the General Secretary.
The Executive body of the National Environmental Science Academy consists of eminent scientists and scholars from all over India, who all work day and night for the betterment of Environment for Sustainable Development.
